Okamikage sits quietly in meditation, reflecting on his previous tasks, remembering every situation and analyzing the effectiveness of his tactics. He notes that the rod of Shocking Grasp has consistently proven its effectiveness, not just against the swarms of snakes at the Yuan-Ti temple, but in previous ecnounters as well. He makes a mental note that recharging this is one his top priorites.

As he delves deeper into his meditative state, Okamikage noted the potential of the thunderstone that Orien has attempted to use against the Naga, even though he also lost his hearing in the process. Perhaps he could make use of this for his own advantage.

His mind shifts, and a familiar voice reverberates through the darkness of his conciousness:

Is this the Dao you have chosen? To become nothing more than a mercanary?

These have been challenges, he thinks to himself, and has never taken more money than he needed, and has conducted himself honorably.

Does that honor include allowing an innocent to suffer from your lack of discipline? Does that honor include breaking into the home of the city mayor?

This was unfortunate, but a neccesary action. The affliction of the child was most regrettable, but that was the reason for taking this latest challenge. Besides, he is part of a team, and not every situation can be accounted for, especially when others are involved.

They lack discipline. Four of them have died because of it.

The path is often a dangerous one. Deaths cannot be helped, and he had even mentioned the need to go as a group, but they failed to listen.

Then they are slowing you down.

...

The Dao of perfection cannot be circumvented. Discipline, honor, thoroughness and attention to detail are your strengths.

This is part of the challenge, Okamikage thinks to himself.

You cannot rationalize to me. You are becoming weak in resolve.

The Dao of perfection cannot be circumvented.

Okamikage opens his eyes and looks around him. Everything was as he has left it, but instinctively glanced at the window...

..it was open.

Okamikage, thinks for a moment, makes a small utterance under his breath, and rises from the floor.

He makes a list of the equipement he needs:

- Rod Recharge - 5 charges (~90g/charge)
- 3 Smokesticks
- 3 Thunderstones
- 1 field knife
- 4 flasks of oil
- Flint and Tinder

Bhima mentally shaken by the battle at Yuan-Ti temple visits a familiar shop, the local tavern and contemplates the recent battle. How can such evil exist in this world? He had heard stories of misdeeds from travelers in his town as a lad and seen the ruined lives of others as his caravan passed through ravaged lands but never believed in true evil. Were the warnings of his father true? Were his father's fears justified? Should he go back to the life he knew as a child, the life of a poor farmer? No! As long as he has his strength he can fight and win.

But something important is missing. Without defense he cannot survive. If only his Pandava brothers did not disband then this would not be a concern. He has always relied on others for defense and it may be too difficult to change his fighting style now. Bhima must continue to seek the aid of others during battle, work defensively as a team just as his Pandava brothers had taught him. Will his companions ever use the defensive arts? This question cannot be taken lightly. Bhima decides to travel to his village in search of a cohort willing to defend his companions.

There are a few things Bhima should bring with him.
- 1 winter blanket
- 1 waterskin
- 3 rations
- 3 torches
- 1 whetstone
- 20 pitons
- 1 hammer
- 1 steel mirror
- 6 gallon jugs of ale

Ale of this quality cannot be found in his village so it should make a fine gift for the village elders.

Bhima orders a few things before leaving.
- 1 masterwork composite longbow (+4 STR)
- 20 arrows
- 1 medium lance

Bhima destroys and discards the fake snake medallion before leaving and advises his companions to discard the real snake medallions so evil will not follow them.

Bhima changes into his travelers outfit and packs his armor and weapons on his horse covering them with a winter blanket to avoid suspicion. His Greatclub may be out of sight but it is easily accessible in case any trouble should arise. After years on a caravan he knows the safest routes and how to blend in with the common traveler. Offering a copper piece at Fharlanghn's roadside shrine he departs.

After traveling two days South he arrives at his village. He greets the village elders and offers a gift of ale then visits his family home. He gives his mother 119 gp, enough to buy a donkey with feed for 5 years and a trained farmhand during planting and harvest season for 2 years. His younger brother informs him of some surprising news. Some of the Pandava brothers who he believed to be dead were looking for him in the village recently. He informs his brother of his residence in East Briar and asks him to direct the Pandava brothers to that location should they appear in the village again. Bhima begins his search for a cohort in the village and nearest town. He has heard of defensive battle masters known as Dragon Shaman and hopes to recruit one. Hopefully his search will not be in vain.
